I normally read spiritual, philosophical,
technical, holistic medicine and biographical works. You can probably
figure that few of the above are easy or quick to read, so I found
Fireworks a fun diversion.
Reading a murder mystery brought back memories of my
youth and the fun I had reading Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys' books. I know
that many people out there read and enjoy mysteries regularly, but for me
that was many years ago.
If you are like me, and haven’t read a mystery in a very
long time, do yourself a favor and pick this book up. You are obviously
interested in metaphysically bent reads or you wouldn’t be on this website
and who ever would have imagined metaphysics and mystery, it’s a great
combination!
Fireworks is a who-done-it mystery about a
detective, Max, who can see and hear his spirit guide after receiving a
concussion. He is skeptical and ignorant of spirit guides and how they
assist us and fights the concepts and their existence. Max and the reader
learn that things happen in our lives with assistance from the guides that
are assigned to us on the other side. I have to admit that I was jealous
that Max is so blessed to hear and see his guide as if he was incarnate. I
want that! Max on the other hand did not see this as a benefit so readily.
You will also learn about the concept of Synchronicity,
or that all things happen at the time and place they are supposed to.
Finally we can stop debating the destiny versus planned issue. In this book
you can find the answers to the age old question.
A local well to do family owns a fireworks plant that
puts on a spectacular 4th of July show. That is where the story
begins. One of the sons is found dead and Max’s job is dependent on
figuring out how it happened. We get to know all of the members of the
family as the plot unfolds. As with all families with money, some members
are tainted by greed and all the complexities that accompany greed's effects.
I thought I knew who-done-it time and again, but was
surprised by the ending. The end will leave you with questions and wanting
more. Thank goodness Fireworks is a part of a series so we have more
adventures to look forward to from these two fine writers and their
metaphysically blessed characters.
I have enjoyed correspondence with Jill Wellington, one
of the authors. She has had an interesting life as a news anchor and now
she and her mother have moved into writing these books with metaphysical
lessons. Thank you Jill and Edna and we look forward to the release of
your next book.
